Some kitchens are designed strictly for utility; others are built to make an undeniable statement. This recent project is a masterclass in how bold natural textures and bespoke metalwork can elevate a classical in-frame Shaker design into a showstopping culinary haven.
The focal point of the design is the heavily veined Calacatta marble used throughout the room. Rather than using stone as a simple worktop, we integrated it across the full splashback and ran a continuous slab over the island, finishing it with a seamless waterfall edge down to the floor.
Above the main cooking zone, a traditional mantle canopy houses an impressive range cooker equipped with a wall-mounted brass mesh door inserts. These patterned grilles catch ambient light throughout the day, offering a subtle hint of texture while concealing internal storage.
Behind the scenes, functionality is designed around how busy a home operates. Just off the main kitchen, a dedicated butler’s pantry houses an espresso bar and breakfast station complete with solid oak shelving, integrated task lighting, and spice racks tailored to the owner’s morning routine.
Further extending the utility space, we designed a secondary prep area fitted with deep charcoal cabinetry, open floating shelving, and a secondary commercial-style spray tap. Tying all these distinct zones together is intricate parquet panel flooring, bringing deep timber tones that ground the bright white cabinetry and rich marble veining.
